A one-day itinerary for touring Palma

Although Palma is a city that deserves to be explored at leisure and to which you will undoubtedly return at some point in your life, if you know where to go and what to do, you can get to know it in a single day.

The Old Town

If there's one thing you absolutely must see, it's the old town. The gorgeous historic centre is the perfect setting for the city's main tourist attractions.

Palma's majestic cathedral, La Seu, is its architectural treasure. Another superbly maintained landmark nearby is the Almudaina Palace. The historic city walls, which are an attraction in their own right, run along the sea between these two magnificent sites, and a stroll along them will bring you to the gardens of s'Hort del Rei, a lush urban oasis.

Popular must-dos when spending a day in the Balearic capital include strolling the narrow cobbled streets of Palma's historic centre and exploring its many squares, shops and restaurants.

The city beaches
